Wheel Loader & Tractor Snow Plows Built to Last
The KAGE® SnowStorm Snow Plow & Pusher System is designed specifically to take the abuse from equipment weighing 15-30k pounds and 100-plus horsepower tractors. Angle plow and back drag with ease and precision using simply the snow blade or quickly attach the SnowKage to add containment, converting the plow into a snow pusher.
The Blade and SnowKAGE mate perfectly creating the ultimate snow containment tool. Hydro-Lock brackets on the blade latch onto the bars of the box. Controls in the cab allow the operator to remain in the cab until the job is done.
Transitioning from blade plowing to pushing has never been easier.
The SnowStorm, available in 10-14 foot widths, is compatible with the following machines:
- Mid-sized Loaders
- Agricultural Tractors
- Telehandlers
- Backhoe Loaders
Angling Snow Plow and Box Pusher for Mid-Size Tractors & Loaders
Combining Snow Plowing with Snow Pushing
The KAGE SnowStorm system combines snow plowing and snow pushing into one machine with one operator. The simple advantages of both methods are now brought together seamlessly by being able to reliably switch between the two from the cab, in seconds.
A regular snow pusher box is less than productive without having another piece of equipment along to do back dragging, scraping, and general cleanup. Not to mention that it will leave trails on both sides once it becomes full of snow.
The KAGE SnowStorm can angle and ‘swoop’ out corners – even with the SnowKAGE attached. It is really an ‘angle pusher’ at heart. This snow plow and pusher system just grew up smarter and faster than all the rest!
The SnowKAGE box comes completely off of the plow. This means that it is not hindering the operation of the angle plow when it’s not needed.
Other containment plows, such as wing plows that have movable containment wings on the ends are heavy and expensive to repair. One wrong hit on a wing might put the entire unit out of use.
The KAGE SnowStorm is great for cleanup operations, as well as break-out during a heavy snow fall. The applications for the KAGE system combined with the versatility of tractors, wheel loaders, telehandlers and backhoe loaders are virtually endless.
Imagine the profitability gained by replacing a pusher and a pickup truck with one KAGE System. Your sites can look better, faster, with less equipment and manpower. That is the KAGE Advantage.
High Durability Moldboard
The snow blade is the backbone of the SnowStorm System. With that in mind, we build each 36-inch tall moldboard as if it has to go into battle.
The Tri-Formed Box that encloses the back of the moldboard eliminates torque and strain that can otherwise fatigue the entire structure. Similar ‘box formed’ methods have been proven by highway plows for years.
Grade 50 steel is the standard for the moldboard skin showing that we care about the materials we use. Not only does that increase tensile strength over mild steel, but helps reduce the effects of corrosion.
Baked on powder coat and primer at 400+ degrees safeguards all of the steel components, and keeps The Blade looking great for years. The standard Blue and Black two-tone finish that is so unique to KAGE is a long lasting, quality product by KAGE Innovation™. In fact, we even use a proprietary method of applying seem sealer to any un-welded joints prior to powder coating to prevent rust pockets and the ugly streaks you see on so many other brands.
Trip Edge
The SnowStorm Blade comes standard with a spring-loaded trip edge, which safeguards from damage to the blade and machine when encountering hidden obstacles. It even helps protect obstacles, such as curbs, from damage.
The two-section trip edge prevents excessive twisting of the cutting edge, allowing it to “break away” at the optimum level of resistance.
It is 9” tall to clear common curbs while still maintaining enough pressure on the curb to push snow over it, even when it trips.
The SnowStorm trip edge hinges back a full 90 degrees from its operating position so that the contact is less abrupt and then automatically returns back to its operating position when clear of the obstacle.
This trip edge is a crucial feature for efficient plowing. You can’t tip-toe around things that you cannot see, that takes too much time. Let the trip edge be your ‘whiskers’ letting you know what is out there!
Both sections of the trip edge are equipped standard with 5/8″ thick by x 8” tall high carbon steel cutting edges.
The cutting edges are the common to the highway plow market, and the hole spacing is what they refer to as a “Standard Highway Punch”, so replacements are available most anywhere it snows; no need to stock custom edges or hardware for replacements. This also means you can replace the cutting edges with any other style or brand of cutting edge that utilizes the standard highway punch, including KAGE’s sectional cutting edge, the AdvantEdge, which is available with both steel and carbide options.
The trip edge action is powered by 8 separate compression spring packs. The springs keep the edge from false tripping while pushing, meaning you can scrape and push without tripping unnecessarily.
AdvantEdge Live Cutting Edge
While the SnowStorm blade will accept any highway punch cutting edge, install the AdvantEdge Cutting Edge System onto your SnowStorm plow for the cleanest scrape.
This active cutting edge will contour to wheel depressions and crowns as well as accommodate raised manhole covers to ensure maximum scrape with minimum damage. The spring-loaded sections also reduce road noise generated by scraping pavement and prevents uneven wear to the cutting edge as each 18” or 24” section floats and oscillates for constant contact and even pressure.
Hydraulic System
The hydraulic system for the blade powers the plow left and right, and if you are using it in combination with the SnowKage, it locks the box onto the plow hydraulically.
We absolutely dread that ‘midnight maintenance,’ so we kept that in mind when we put this hydraulic system together. This resulted in damage preventative features like abrasion resistant cloth hose covering on all hoses, and a 2500 psi crossover relief valve which both come standard with all SnowStorm plow and pusher systems.
Two 3” bore x 1.5” rod hydraulic cylinders work together to power the plow left and right an industry-best 36 degree angle.
The electric diverter valve is standard equipment with the Kage System, which enables machines with only one auxiliary function to operate the hydro locks to connect the SnowKage on as well as the angle function of the plow. Just the flick of a switch is all you need to switch power from the angle cylinders to the lock cylinders. You won’t have to think twice about the Deutsch® plugs, heavy duty 5/8” O.D. ‘trailer cable’, strain relief cord grip, or lighted solenoids that all make up this expert setup.
Oscillation Slot Plate
Oscillation, or side-to-side float, the crucial function of any good angle plow, is built into our slot plate. The slot plate allows for up to 12 degrees of oscillation, meaning that your plow’s cutting edge will maintain constant contact with the plowing surface even when angle plowing or clearing snow from side slopes or banked surfaces.
Placed in a strategic location above the trip edge, there is minimal mechanical stress, ensuring that it will operate a lifetime.
The slot plate is equipped with 2 greaseable points to prevent seizing.
This feature makes this plow so easy to operate. You don’t have to be overly concerned about your boom height, just drop and go. The slot plate automatically adjusts the cutting edge to the level of the surface! You don’t need to level your boom in order to angle the plow like other systems.
The SnowKAGE Box
The SnowKAGE box is the genius behind the SnowStorm Pusher System. So simple yet so intuitive. It stands alone when not in use, but mates perfectly to the snow blade when needed in order to push huge amounts of snow out of the way.
Tough Supports
Tough, triangulated supports mean that you can push this to the extreme with no breakdowns. These supports not only brace the containment box against pressure from the front, but also outward pressure generated by snow packing inside the snow box.
On the back side of the SnowKage are reinforced supported pipe-like connection bars for the hydro-clamps to attach to. These bars offer extra width to allow for some play in the clamping process. This helps speed up the process of connecting the box – even when the operator is tired.
Polyurethane Skids
The 2” thick polyurethane skids are gentle on curbs and other surfaces prone to damage. At the same time, they are extremely durable and wear at roughly the same rate as your cutting edge.
The steel formed parts that hold the skid are slotted for adjustment as the cutting edge of the plow becomes worn.
This same bolt-on design allows for easy replacement of the poly skids when necessary.
Snow Catch
The 10” wide, ½” thick black snow catch is made of durable conveyor belt material that contours to the radius of the moldboard keeping the snow sealed within.
This is designed to “fill the gap” allowed for the clamp-on attachment process and prevents dribbling of snow between the blade and the box.
Compact Wheel Loader Attachments
Quick Attaches
The wheel loader hitch can accommodate most quick attaches found on wheel loaders and tractor loader backhoes. The pivot frame of the plow remains the same, and the quick attach, particular to your make / model of machine merely pins on with 4, 2-inch pins.
Look closely and you will see that the blade will float up and down for uneven terrain.
Down pressure? Sure, just ‘dump’ the quick attach with the curl function and it will bottom out, creating down pressure for back dragging or scraping ice!
3 Point Hitch
For ag tractors, the 3-point hitch provides a compact attachment, and full range of motion while keeping the plow as close to the machine as possible.
Universal to any CAT II, 3-point hitch, it can be used in combination with one of our KAGE Under-Hitch tractor undercarriages, or any other brand.
Curb Guards
Optional curb guard kit helps reduce wear to the trip edge when angle plowing snow away from curbs.
Clean curb lines are crucial, but don’t wear out your plow in the process!
The curb guards are sold as a kit, and they are able to transpose so that you get double the wear. Simply unbolt, flip and bolt back in place.
Cutting Edge Life Extenders
Add these carbide edge extenders at the ends, and center of the plow to increase the life expectancy of your cutting edges.
These are sold in kits that include:
- the carbide embedded edge
- and two bolts and locknuts to replace the existing hardware.
Order up to 4 per SnowStorm plow.
Back Drag Kit
When you want to dramatically increase the efficiency of your snow plow when back dragging snow, the Back Drag Kit manufactured exclusively by KAGE Innovation is designed to fit any 6″ to 8″ snow plow cutting edge machine with a highway punch bolt hole pattern.
It also works great with trip-edge plows and when you’re angling snow away from curbs, the flexible design of the poly back drag kit can take the abuse.
The entire kit weighs 10 pounds, and it’s built from the same uniquely blended polyurethane material used in our poly cutting edges and poly skids. It’s far more durable and will last considerably longer than rubber.
The kit comes with:
- 2 poly back drag catches
- 4 back catch backing plates for secure mounting
- 4 high strength steel bolts
- and 4 flange locknuts.
AdvantEDGE Sectional Cutting Edge
Optionally install the AdvantEDGECutting Edge System onto your SnowStorm blade for the cleanest scrape. The spring-loaded sections of the steel or carbide cutting edges contour to uneven substrates and accommodate obstacles such as manhole covers.
The AdvantEdge system also has an optional snow catch kit called the H Spring Kit that can be installed on a SnowStorm plow and pusher system.
UnderHitch Tractor Front 3-Point Undercarriage
The Under-Hitch Tractor Undercarriage adds stability to the subframe of tractors and supplies a strong mounting point for snow plows of any make or model. This universal tractor undercarriage system also offers a front three-point hitch system for use with any category II 3-point hitch attachment, including the KAGE SnowStorm 2-in-1 snow plow and pusher system.
