All snow plow operators need the right equipment to suit their needs. They must first consider what machine they have and then research which plows would be best to purchase. They must decide whether to purchase a containment plow or an angle blade.

Often, professional contractors end up purchasing both systems costing them more money. They invest in a system that does the job, but the equipment tends to give them a bigger headache than anything. This can occur whether the contractor has an unhappy operator due to staying out all night because they cannot get the job done fast enough with the equipment they have, or they are calling because their hose blew again, and they have reached a dead stop on their site.

These are things to consider, and finding the right equipment to get the job done to keep customers happy is essential. But what if I told you there was a better way?

The KAGE 2-in-1 angle blade and containment box system exceeds the efficiency and durability of all other plows on the market. It takes all the benefits of the angle blade system, turns it up a few notches, and gives the same ability to the containment box all-in-one system. KAGE makes various 2-in-1 systems that attach to vehicles as small as skid steers and as large as wheel loaders up to 50,000 lbs.

  • What is the tractor’s weight?
  • What is horsepower of your tractor?

What KAGE containment plow do I need?

Below is a list of recommended specifications for each KAGE snow plow system and the machine you plan to put it on.

Containment Plow for Small Construction Equipment

Skid Steers

If you are purchasing a snow blade for a skid steer, you will be looking at our SnowFire containment plow system. This comes in 6′, 8′, 9′, 10′, and 12′. Here is a list of specifications we recommended for each size snow pusher.

Something to consider is that if you are trailering your plow often, you may want a smaller plow such as the 8′ or 9′. The 10′ plow just fits into a driving lane and when angled it is longer than 10′. This can be a hassle is you are in a downtown location pulling a trailer with an extra long plow.

Another thing to consider is if you will primarily be pushing snow versus angle blading. If that is the case, you may want a smaller plow as well. If you are pushing wet heavy snow with a 10′ plow on a 6,000-lb. machine, it may not be able to keep up with that much weight and can cause frustration for the driver. Something else that you should consider is if you will primarily be pushing snow versus angle blading. If this is what your primary function is, you may want a smaller plow as well. If you are pushing wet heavy snow with a on a 40hp machine, you’ll be best served to use the 8- or 9-foot options to avoid bogging down.
