Originating in Minnesota

Original KAGE SnowFire 2-in-1 Snow Plow System

SnowFire 2-in-1 Snow Plow System

Born from first-hand experience in the snow removal industry, the KAGE line of snow plows began in 2008 when Mike Stephan developed the idea for the SnowFire 2-in-1 snow plow and pusher system for skid steers out of a garage in Stillwater, Minnesota. This system allowed snow plow operators to switch from a 32-inch-tall angle blade plow to a snow pusher in seconds by simply tipping the top of the blade into a cam lock system attached to a snow box and offered sizes ranging from 6- to 12-feet.

This innovative new plow system gained enough traction that by 2010, the line expanded to be compatible with up to 100 horsepower tractors as well. In this case the removable containment box was attached and detached from the plow blade through the use of hydraulic clamps.

By 2016, KAGE added its wheel loader friendly version of the SnowFire that includes extra float in the pivot frame to give wheel loaders better traction and steering by keeping the front tires on the ground.

Rolling with the momentum of the hydro clamps, KAGE upped its game to accommodate 15,000- to 30,000-pound wheel loaders and 100-plus horsepower tractors in 2011 with the release of the first-ever SnowStorm System. The SnowStorm 2-in-1 snow plow system features a 36-inch tall moldboard and increased the size options to include snow plow systems up to 14 feet wide.

KAGE Innovation’s third plow took a different approach. In 2016, KAGE released its ShadowBlade – a 3-point hitch plow that mounts to the rear of 9,500-plus pound tractors. This rear mounted wing plow extends roughly 9 feet and can be deployed on either side of the tractor to extend plow width as well as allow for benchwinging.

Manufacturing In Wisconsin

KAGE Innovation decided to move its headquarters and manufacturing facility across the St. Croix River from Stillwater, Minnesota to Osceola, Wisconsin where it broke ground on its new facility in 2017.

Advantedge American Snow Plow Cutting Edge

AdvantEDGE Sectional Snow Plow Cutting Edge

KAGE broke in its new facility while inventing some key snow plow accessories, including the AdvantEDGE sectional cutting edge, released in 2019, which allows any snow plow to contour its scrape to accommodate uneven substrates like roads with wheel depressions, manhole covers and crowns.

Also released in 2019 was KAGE’s Wingline Laser Plow guide, which helps plow operators project the path of plow wings that are positioned behind the operator – without having to constantly turn their heads to check how far the plow wing is sticking out.

In 2021, KAGE decided to “go big” with its SnowDozer 2-in-1 snow plow system for 30,000- to 50,000-pound wheel loaders. This monster angle blade and box system stands 48 inches tall and can be manufactured as large as 20 feet wide through a modular design.

SnowFire BLAST American Snow Pusher

SnowFire BLAST Snow Pusher

Recognizing the need for increased simplicity and lower priced options in some situations, KAGE began manufacturing its first ever fixed-side snow pusher – meaning the side panels of the pusher stay on at all times. This is also KAGE’s first snow removal product that does not require additional hydraulics to operate. The SnowFire BLAST pusher utilized the same tried and true SnowFire moldboard, with oscillation and a trip edge, and added floating poly skids and a floating skid steer quick attach to give it more versatility than standard snow pushers.

2024 was a year filled with new KAGE snow plows, starting with the SnowStorm BLAST snow pusher. Like the SnowFire BLAST, it utilized the same moldboard as its namesake – the SnowStorm – but added floating poly skids and does not require additional hydraulics to function. It also featured a new 3-in-1 attachment system that allows users to easily use a 3 point hitch, floating quick loader quick attach or a bucket clamp.

SnowDozer Wing Hydraulic Wing Plow

KAGE’s first ever hydraulic wing plow was also released in 2024 and uses the same moldboard as its SnowDozer 2-in-1 system. Unlike wing plows that extend from the side of a dump truck or behind a tractor, this wing plow is mounted in front of large wheel loaders or 300-plus horsepower tractors. It features hinged wings on each side of the angle blade that can be folded straight forward, straight backward and anywhere in between to give it ultimate versatility without having to remove or attach to additional components while plowing. With the capability of extending up to 28 feet wide, the SnowDozer Wing is the largest front hydraulic wing plow to be fully manufactured in the United States by an American manufacturing company.

SnowFire Xtreme American Snow PlowSnowFire Xtreme 2-in-1 Snow Plow System

KAGE’s SnowFire Xtreme, released in 2024, combines the best of KAGE’s 2-in-1 plow system offerings for everything from skid steers to compact tractors, compact track loaders, compact wheel loaders, telehandlers, Toolcats, and tractor loader backhoes. While the box is still removable, it also features floating skids and the AdvantEDGE floating cutting edges for maximum contouring capabilities and minimal risk of damage to infrastructure, plows and machines.

SnowStorm Blast Steel American Snow PusherSnowStorm BLAST STEEL Snow Pusher

While poly skids are gentle on substrates, there are times when the rugged durability of steel shoes are needed. That is why KAGE launched its SnowStorm BLAST STEEL snow pusher. Like the original SnowStorm BLAST, the BLAST STEEL pusher his hydraulic free and offers three mounting options. The big difference is its 3-part replaceable and reversible steel shoes and floating side panes – which replace the floating poly skids. It also has no supports in front of its curved moldboard to potentially interfere with the rolling of snow in front of the pusher.

All KAGE Innovation snow plows and other snow removal tools and accessories are proudly Made in the USA at its headquarters facility in Osceola, Wisconsin.
