Kage Anti-Lock Couplers
Experience Driven Innovation is what we sleep and breathe. Well, that leaves out our diet. What do we eat, you say? We eat up the everyday problems that snow removal and landscape contractors face. We say, “eat them up”, because it gives us the opportunity to solve these everyday problems. Usually the better way is in the minute details, such as the problem of hooking up your snow plow after the hydraulics have locked up.
Have you ever tried to hook up your skid-steer implement, only to find that the hydraulic couplers won’t push together? You can push with all your might, but they just won’t connect. Most of the time this is due to trapped pressure on the side of the implement. In order to prevent this you have two options. One is before disconnecting the implement you must relieve the pressure. Turn the machine off, turn the key back to ignition only, disengage the parking brake, check your surroundings making sure everything is clear of your loader, then release the pressure by moving your loader levers. (Note some new machines have a feature that can bleed the pressure outside of the machine). This usually works, however if the implement gets bumped or jostled during your next hookup, that jerk to the hydraulic system can cause it to immediately lock up. Doesn’t this sound like a hassle?
The second option is to learn from our experience and adopt the Kage Advantage: After spending days, weeks and months on end thinking of a solution, we finally found one! Starting this year, (2016) we have started using a proprietary connect under pressure coupler set manufactured by Stucchi. Stucchi is an “ISO 9001 / Vision 2000” certified manufacturer of hydraulic quick disconnects. Stucchi is a recognized global leader in the design and manufacturing of quick coupling products, one of which is a unique connect-under-pressure style disconnect! We now put these couplers on as a standard piece on our snow plow systems with no extra costs, because we know it’s what you need!
These couplers have been tested and proven to work in the toughest situations and conditions that everyone will face who owns a skid-steer or other type of agricultural, and snow removal equipment. When you find yourself stuck in the cold, wet and miserable weather that these jobs often have, you will be happy with your decision on choosing Kage equipment as your main source of lawn and snow maintenance.
