The two wheel sulky is more comfortable and durable compared to the one wheel trailer sulky. The one wheel trailer sulky has many disadvantages compared to the two wheeled sulkies out there. The Kage Wheel Kaddy combines the two wheeled design with new improvements that are sure to set it apart from the other sulkies in the commercial lawn care equipment market today.

One Wheel Sulkies

One wheel sulkies started to become popular in the 1990’s. Mr. Wright (Bill Wright with Wright Manufacturing a.k.a. Velke brand) invented and patented a version of the one wheel sulky which is well known as the ‘Velke’. This was one of the first, and best trailer sulkies that were available. It was light-weight and could swing 360 degrees around, tucking it up underneath the arm that connects it to the walk-behind lawn mower. However, this one wheel design did not offer much foot room for the operator to stand and maneuver while bouncing along day in and day out. The single wheel dropped into holes in the ground, tipped unwantingly on slopes, created ruts because of the high-ground pressure of one wheel, and created an unsightly stripe down the middle of the mowers cut.

Two Wheel Sulkies – The Better Choice

Two wheel sulkies started to become popular around the same time. Wright also was an innovator when it came to the two wheel sulky. His Velke product also incorporated a two wheel sulky line, and quickly became popular with many commercial grass cutters. Soon after that Jungle Wheels was introduced and here we are today with many other options to choose from in the realm of walk-behind trailer sulkies. Both of the options just mentioned (Velke and Jungle Wheels) were designed with the sole purpose to get the operator from the walking position to the riding position. Many two wheeled sulky designs out there do not anticipate that the sulky will be used as a vital and irreplaceable part of the commercial lawn care professionals’ equipment. They do not anticipate that the sulky will be used so heavily that it will break, wear out, and be tossed aside because they are no longer useful and the operator is fed up with poor performance and breakdowns. The Kage Wheel Kaddy is unlike any of those designs.

Kage Wheel Kaddy – The Two Wheel Sulky That Sets The Bar Even Higher

The Kage Kaddy utilizes a two wheel design that offers the operator plenty of foot room for the hours and even days he is standing on the platform. The Kaddy platform even incorporates a ‘foothold’ and ‘heel’ that helps to keep the operator’s foot comfortably in place as he is freely maneuvering the mower and sulky platform. The bearings and pivots that the Wheel Kaddy uses are all of the highest quality, and you can rest assured that the needle-bearing of the pivot points and the tapered roller bearings of the wheel assemblies will be the last thing that you need to replace or fix. The Wheel Kaddy’s two-wheeled design also includes a suspension feature. So, because of the added surface area of two wheels vs. one wheel, and the spring loaded suspension feature, the Kaddy transitions over holes, bumps and humps much more smoothly than the one wheel sulky.

Landscape Professionals Need The Right Equipment

Lawn care professionals require tools that complement the service they are providing. When you are mowing acres of grass every day, you need equipment that can hold up to the rigors and abuse that commercial grass cutters are used to. It can be so obvious when you see someone doing something with the wrong piece of equipment, it shows in the operators face, his mood, and going beyond that, the quality of the service or product he / she is producing. It’s like cutting trees down with a dull chainsaw. The operator has much more strain on his back and arms, causing him to be very ornery. The job takes way longer than it should, and there is a safety factor as well. If the operator is working too hard to push the chainsaw through the log, there is bound to be a disastrous result. I cannot stress enough how important the right piece of equipment is for each specific job.
