KAGE Back Catch Kit – Optional Back Drag Snow Plow Attachment
If you’ve ever taken on a snow removal contract in a housing development that requires you to back drag snow from 100+ driveways, we’re sure you know how much time gets wasted having to pull up to the garage door just to back drag the remaining thin strip of snow left behind. Well, we have the solution to that problem ¬– the KAGE Back Catch Kit!
The Back Catch Kit is scheduled to arrive shortly after the new year, but we couldn’t wait to show you how this product is going to be a fantastic upgrade for your snow plow system. Note that this back drag will also fit plow models outside of the KAGE Snow Plow line. This new KAGE Back Catch Kit will certainly revolutionize the way that you back drag driveways, loading docks, or parking stalls.
Absolute Simplicity In Design, Yet Invaluable to Any Snow Removal Business
The KAGE Back Catch Kit is very simple to install. By loosening two bolts and removing the nuts on either end of the plow you’ll be able to install the back-catch and brackets that hold the back-catch to the back of the snow plow cutting edge. Tighten both bolts evenly and then you have a lean mean back dragging snow machine.
The back catch will be molded from a similar material used for KAGE’s Poly Skids. The wear factor will be far more durable than traditional rubber ply material and it’s much more forgiving when you’re angling the plow away from the curb.
Testing the Durability of the KAGE Back Drag Kit for Snow Plows
The design of the kit is simple to the eye, but much was considered when coming to a final product. Dan and Mike Stephan, creators of the Back Drag Kit, put the product through various design revisions so there’s no way it can be an interference with basic snow plow operation. As we just mentioned, angling is one instance where the back-catch will naturally protrude beyond the width of the plow. By using a pliable, yet durable polyurethane material it will give way to fixed obstacles like curbs.
The other basic function that we were sure to not impede upon was the snow plow trip edge mechanism. When the plow’s cutting edge trips backwards from hitting fixed obstacles, the Back Catch Kit will not interfere with anything. Even in an instance when an operator is back dragging snow and possibly hooks the back-catch on a fixed object, it simply gives way until it’s passed and returns to its normal shape.
The product designers at KAGE Innovation analyze every facet of the snow removal process. Reducing the amount of time a contractor has to spend on any given snow removal job is paramount to us. The KAGE Back Catch Kit add-on for your snow plow should be at the top of your “need” list for that purpose alone.
