Don’t Damage Your Snow Plow Hydraulic Hoses

Kage Innovation is all about finding a better way in the snow removal industry so that when you are hard at work in the coldest, and wettest weather, you can still love your job and know that it matters! That is why we have specially designed our hydraulic hoses and made “adjustable” retainers for the hoses. This was so that no matter what machine you are putting the Kage plow on, you can have enough slack in the line so the hoses don’t become stretched and break. Kage has designed a pivot frame and mounting plate with 3 different places to mount a retainer for your hoses. See below:

Hydraulic hose fittings are included in the base cost of all Kage models. Still another of Mike’s Attention to Detail items are these exclusive hose retainers. Each brand of skid steer varies with where its hydraulic hose couplers are located. With every other brand of snow blade there is either no retainer at all, or there is only one position for the clamp. If the hoses aren’t routed properly there is the risk of tearing off the hoses when the blade is raised and curled.

How to Select the Right Length in Hydraulic Hoses

The Kage owner’s manual prominently alerts the new owner to select one of these three possible locations for the hydraulic hose retainers. The adjustable retainer allows the operator to select the proper amount of slack in the hoses between the machine and the blade. You don’t want to have the hoses too snug where you are not able to get the full lifting capacity in your boom. There is nothing more depressing than tearing the hoses off the first time the customer raises the boom, this is totally avoidable, but only with Kage.

Snow Plow Couplers

Not only did Kage find a way to prevent damage to hoses by adding multiple retainer mounts, we also came out with a connect-under-pressure coupler to go on your hydraulic hoses! Have you ever tried to hook up your skid-steer implement,  only to find that the hydraulic couplers won’t push together? You can push with all your might,  but they just won’t connect. Most of the time this is due to trapped pressure on the side of the implement. Kage solved this with the Stucchi couplers. Stucchi is an “ISO 9001 / Vision 2000” certified manufacturer of hydraulic quick disconnects which will outlast and out-perform any other coupler on the market!
